5 Thanksgiving Images

Whenever I purchase bundles of cards to scan, I always wind up with a bunch of Thanksgiving stuff. I’m not even scratching the surface of the Thanksgiving images that are in my collection with this post—I have a bloody photo album with multiple pages of postcards dedicated to turkeys and the fall harvest! Let’s see what we have here today, shall we?

What a lovely postcard! Yes, this is a postcard! This is an early addition to my collection and is from 1911. Note the basket of vegetables (and possible plucked turkey), as well as the greeting itself, which…

… I isolated so you can just grab it and use it as you want to. Yay! Yes, this is a transparent PNG. Just click on it to open it up and download.

This ‘Thanksgiving Greetings’ postcard wishes you health, wealth, and happiness. Love the turkey illustration. If you can’t make out the message, it says:

Whatever pathways you may see,
May you but travel by these three.

This lovely Thanksgiving card could be split into its elements—the two ‘windows’ and the wreath with the turkey in it. Maybe I’ll do that sometime. This handsome bird would be delicious, I bet.

Lastly, a rough example of an embossed postcard from the early 1900s. It appears to have been coloured in a manner that reminds me of airbrushing, and the "Thanksgiving Greetings" text is stamped in place. Not very well, but an effort was made.

It's an interesting card because of how it was put together. It's not a great piece to use for anything that needs to be printed, unless you're using it to add texture to a project.

There you have it: 5 Thanksgiving images for your collections. Enjoy, and don't forget to tell me all about what you've been making.
